9 restaurants WITH A view of the sea

Would you like to enjoy some good food and drinks, while looking out over the sea? Below are a few restaurants with a nice ocean view.

• Slipkajen is located at Varvsholmen, and is one of the White Guide restaurants in Kalmar. Come here to enjoy a well-cooked lunch or dinner, while gazing out over the water and the picturesque fishing cottages on Ängö.
• Restaurang & Kafé Ångkvarnen is housed at the top floor of the Kalmar county museum, with a pretty spectacular view of Kalmarsund and the Öland bridge. Keep your eyes peeled for passing ships while you have lunch or a coffee.
• Café Lotsutkiken can be found at Tjärhovet, the peninsula of the Kalmar harbour. Back in the day, the building was used as a pilot’s lookout, but today, this venue offers both food and sweet treats, as well as a panoramic view of Kalmarsund.
• Blomlöfs i Kalmar is located by the guest harbour, and offers a fantastic view of the castle. Come here for a delicious seafood lunch. The Blomlöf speciality is smoked products, which can also be bought in the shop adjacent to the restaurant.
• Bryggan has one foot in the Baronen shopping mall, and the other on the jetty of the Kalmar Guest Harbour. This is a place where city life truly meets the sea. Eat lunch here, try something from the bistro menu, or have a coffee with something tasty on the side while listening to the sound of the waves.
  
• Zegel, and summertime restaurant Zegel Sommar, are located at the heart of the Kalmar Guest Harbour. At Zegel, you are welcome to have lunch all year round, while the Zegel Sommar menu offers lunch, dinner and light snacks during the summer months.
• Restaurant L is located at the newly built university quay, but it’s not just a place for students. Anyone is welcome to have lunch here, and enjoy the view of the funky university architecture, and the boats in the Kalmar Guest Harbour.
• Bistro Wud is a bistro café in the middle of the Kalmar Guest Harbour. Enjoy the view of the sea and boats, while having a meal or a coffee in the inviting atmosphere.
  
• Restaurang & Café Värsnäs sits in a particularly lovely location at the Kalmar Golf club. Here, you can have lunch or a coffee, as well as a nice view of both the golf course and Kalmarsund.
