5 fishing spots around Kalmar

Enjoy fishing? In Kalmar you have the opportunity to enjoy recreational fishing both along the coast and in various waters further inland. Below are a few fishing spots throughout Kalmar. Please note you might need a fishing permit!

  • Snärjebäcken. The Kalmar Sports Fishing Association manages the Snärjebäcken fishing waters north of Kalmar. Steelhead is planted here for most of the year. You will also find roach, pike, and perch, slightly more rare than the steelhead.
  • The Ljungby and Hossmo streams. The fishing area extends from the mouth of the Ljungby stream up to the community of Ljungbyholm. Both fly fishers, spin fishers, and anglers share these waters. The streams offer great biodiversity. Perch, roach, pike, and bream are commonly found here.
  • The Nedre Hagbyån fishing management area. The Hagby stream is home to many different types of fish. Carp fish such as ide, roach, and bream come here to spawn in spring. Pike and perch spawn in the part of the stream that is closest to the sea, and in the autumn, sea trout comes to spawn at Loverslund and the Igelösa mill.
  • The Hultsby sports fishing grounds. This venue welcomes groups for a day of fishing and outdoor life. In the area are four fishing ponds and opportunities for camping overnight. The ponds offer steelhead, and the best time for fishing is in the spring and autumn.
  • Kalmar Camping. At Rafshagsudden you can go fishing both from the beach and from your boat. The camping also offers rental canoes and rowboats that are suitable for fishing.
