9 autumn tips

Kalmar offers a wealth of experiences all year round. Below are a few things we are looking forward to this autumn.

• Autumn walks in blazing colour. There are several walks to choose between. One of them is the Park promenade, through the beautiful parks of Kalmar. A booklet in English for this walk can be picked up at Kalmar Tourist Center.
• Lovely autumn outings. Bring a picnic, and head out on your bike or on foot. Kalmar has many scenic places worth visiting, several of them with BBQ spots.
• Finding more checkpoints. Are you among those who enjoyed the Hitta ut activity this summer? Until October, you can keep looking for checkpoints throughout Kalmar.
• Visit a farm shop. During the harvest time, some really cosy outings can be made to the local farm shops, to enjoy tasty treats in season. Make sure not to miss the harvest day hosted at the Krusenstierna garden in October.
• Lots of entertainment. On multiple stages around Kalmar, you will find music, comedy and drama.
• Footraces and other sporting events. This autumn, you can participate in several different footraces. Or treat yourself to some Premier Division soccer at the Guldfågeln Arena.
• Visit museums and art galleries. Kalmar Castle, Kalmar Art Museum and the Kalmar County Museum are three examples of museums that are well worth a visit.
• All about cuisine. Autumn is the perfect time to sit down in a cosy café, or enjoy a nice dinner in a restaurant. Keep your eyes peeled for the various culinary events hosted at this time.
• Easy weekend mornings. We love a lie-in and a slow start, with a hotel breakfast or brunch. For a real treat, how about a spa reservation?
