Just strollling through the Kalmar city centre is an experience in itself. Plenty of nice shops, cafés and restaurants make for a charming setting.

Many buildings on Kvarnholmen date back to the 17th century, and there is still a well-preserved wall around the central city. Part of the wall houses shops these days, and you are welcome to stroll along the top of the wall and look out over the city.

Other parts of Kalmar offer plenty of nice shops, too, from familiar chains to unique shops that can be found nowhere else. And of course, there are plenty of places to stop when it’s time for a cup of coffee or a savoury bite to eat.
