Kalmar offers excellent opportunities for canoeing or kayaking, both in town and along the extensive coastline. You could also catch the bike ferry across to Öland.

Kalmar always offers plenty of exhibitions to see, both at the main attractions and in smaller art galleries. At Kalmar Castle, you can experience the award-winning art exhibition "Modern Guru and the Path to Artificial Happiness," and the Kalmar County Museum is highlighting the 350th anniversary of the sinking of the warship Kronan. On May 30, A World of Dinosaurs also opens for the season. The museum continues to grow – and the latest addition is a gigantic Spinosaurus!
