5 fishing spots around Kalmar

Enjoy fishing? In Kalmar, you have the opportunity to enjoy recreational fishing both along the coast and in various waters further inland. Below are a few fishing spots throughout Kalmar. Please note you might need a fishing license!
- Snärjebäcken. The Kalmar Sports Fishing Association manages the Snärjebäcken fishing waters north of Kalmar. Rainbow trout is planted here throughout most of the year. You will also find roach, pike, and perch, which, however, are slightly more rare than the rainbow trout.
- The Ljungby/Hossmo River. This exciting fishing water stretches from its mouth in the sea all the way up to the village of Ljungbyholm. Both fly fishers, spin fishers, and coarse anglers frequently visit the Ljungby River, wehich local anglers also refer to as the Hossmo River. It offers great biodiversity, and you can catch plenty of perch, pike, brown trout, tench and bream here.
- The Hagby River. The Hagby River is home to many different types of fish. Carp fish such as ide, roach, and bream come here to spawn during spring. Pike and perch spawn in the part of the river that is closest to the sea, and in autumn, the sea trout migrate up to Loverslund and the Igelösa mill for spawning.
- The Hultsby Sportfishing Ponds. This venue welcomes groups for a day of fishing in the great outdoors. The area includes four fishing ponds and opportunities for overnight camping. Here, you can catch stocked rainbow trout, and the best time for fishing is during spring and autumn.
- Jutebron at the Lindö island. A real hotspot for perch and very centrally located. The channel at Jutebron is easily accessible and can offer very nice perch. There is also a chance of a pike or two. You do not need a fishing license here.
