Each year is equally splendid. The lovely bloom of spring can be enjoyed on the remains of the fortifications, on Flora’s hill, and in the city park.

There is something very special about sitting down with a coffee, turning your face to the sun. Maybe it’s time for the first outdoor ice cream of the year?

There are always plenty of exhibitions to see in Kalmar, both at major attractions and smaller art galleries. Keep an eye on new exciting season exhibitions that open in the spring. “Modern Guru and the Path to Artificial Happiness” opens at Kalmar Castle on March 26. On May 30, A World of Dinosaurs opens its doors for the season.

Whether you want to enjoy music, theatre or comedy, there’s a wide range of shows on offer at Kalmar’s venues. Keep an eye on the events calendar so you don’t miss anything.

In April, Upzone Adventure Park usually opens its gates after a winter break. Here you can climb among the treetops on the high ropes course or launch yourself down a zip line. The adventure park is located in scenic Stensö, where you can also go for a run, swim or simply enjoy the tranquil surroundings.

Behind a red fence in the Old Town hides a beautiful garden from the turn of the last century. From mid-April to the end of September, you are welcome to enjoy this beautiful garden once again, whether in the café or by bringing your own picnic basket and blanket.

The orienteering project "Hitta ut" is a fun activity for those who want to explore nature. From May to October, you are welcome to go roaming outdoors in search of new checkpoints.
